North America’s first dedicated spatial sound studio to work with a permanently integrated 4DSOUND system, Lobe operates as both a place to create in spatial sound and a space for the presentation of new work. Located in Vancouver, B.C.

The innovation of new technology is always a mesmerizing and awe-like experience and Lobe does not sell us short on this.

With their open call for Artist Residency material, we worked to integrate the feeling of technology and innovation with approachability. Taking direction from their minimal and Bauhaus inspired brand, we created blocks of content to help the viewer move through information like chapters in a book pairing with imagery intended to spark the imagination of creatives.

Specific inspiration was drawn from the sound program itself: mapping out an area and allowing artists to create a sound “block” that can both flow across the space as well as snap from one end to the other offering experiences such as whispers coming from all around you at once, to pinned in one top corner of the room.

Content was created as a digital PDF with program details as well as printed rack cards (postcards) advertising the open call.
